brazilfroggy books

Posted by froggyman Jan 29, 2018

I am a writer of children books.  I have always been involved with drawing, painting, and illustrations.  I alos was raised in southern Louisiana where I became very familiar with the many characters that appear in my Froggy books.  After much trial and error, along with the encouragement from a few friends and acquaintances I was able to create my first book, entitled "Froggy:  The Beginning."  It is a story about a little frog who was rescued and raised by a kind stranger after a violent flood swept her away from her mom and siblings.  The setting is in an imaginary location in the Manchac, Louisiana area which I named the "Kooterville Swamp."  Her story continues in the books that follow.  Suitable for young children and adults who like to read to their children.  Large print with color illustrations.

Hi, How you All doing?

Let me introduce myself to you, I'm a first-time Author, from Manchester England, This is the first ever Blog I've ever done - hope I get it right!  Anyway, I'm a busy Mother of 5 and have written a Series of 'Epic Fantasy Adventure Books' readership age (18+).  I'm shattered, to say the least, have any of you got any suggestions as to possible Marketing avenues I could consider.  I released Part one last month just weeks before Christmas and am looking forward to getting the first money I've earned later this month, after not earning a single penny since 2009. Yes, I'm sure it's been really hard for many of you too, trying to finish up your books and get the visions of your mind out there for all to read. Hope you'll enjoy mine 'AGES OF RAEKWON - Awakenings Arousal the Peoples Story'.  I never anticipated how hard it would be to follow through with the promotion or get people, to take me seriously. The saying              'do not judge a book by its cover', seems to also apply to them looking at me.  So, please tell me how you're finding it all, I'd love to hear your...Stories!

Best,

Clio-Mystery

MATRIX

Posted by BooksRUs Oct 5, 2017

What to do when your best friend has done the unthinkable turning your whole world into chaos? Leaving you to take the heat of his actions which makes you question everything you believed in.

Come be part of a time when the Angels fell from the very presence of God Himself, into a world of despair. This is the story of the ones who were undecided.

Also in Book 3 of the series: The Chilling Spine Series, SCI-FIED! Is a short story based on this book Matrix. To understand the characters in this story, it is advised to read the Matrix story in there first.

Need feedback

Posted by moonbeam7 Apr 18, 2017

I'm trying to improve my description for my book Unraveled. Would appreciate any and all feedback.

Alyson Pierce believed she was like any other seventeen year old girl. She wasn't. She believed her mother died giving birth, but Alyson was never born. Everything she knew was a lie. Betrayed by her "father", she sets out on a quest to find the truth. Instead, she finds a world where the distinction between right and wrong isn't always clear and the truth she seeks could be deadly.

Hi wonderful folks,

I am relatively new to writing, having penned just two nonfiction books. With my first book, "If life is a game, THEN PLAY TO WIN!!!"I quickly realized that it takes way more than enthusiasm to produce a bestseller.

I have just penned my second and I am brimming with jolts of positive energy. It is called "The Fundamental Paradox: The Universe, Science and Religion", it falls into two sub-genres- Science/Philosophy and Religion (Religion and Science). It's available on amazon.com and other online retailers. https://www.amazon.com/Fundamental-Paradox-Universe-Science-Religion/dp/153559215X/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1478458119&sr=8-1&keywords=onyeka+uzoma+md

I really need marketing tips from more experienced writers, it would be an honor to hear from those who have successfully walked down this pathway.

In the next few weeks I will be publishing my third work of fiction, "Heiding Fortunes, Feinding Truths", A Tale of Two Richards. The novel is dedicated to "Independent Authors Everywhere". This dedication was chosen because I believe the story touches the very soul that motivates many of us to take the time to do what we do.

The work merges two accounts. The first, a Dickensian view of the world of wealth, poverty, inheritance and deception, featuring the life story of Richard Heiding. Its companion tale highlights Richard Feinding in a modern day treatise on the value of honesty, candid expression and truthful communication. The narratives are linked by the evolution of the clandestine enterprise which both men eventually serve.  The message for today; the proliferation of unbiased views that encourage people to think for themselves can elevate society to reach its full potential and make for a better world.

The following is an excerpt in which Richard Feinding defends the value of his life's work: ..."Then of course, as with any message, unless you are just howling into the wind, someone must hear it. Perhaps it is the respect offered the newly deceased that cracks the door to that listening. That tiny window when people discharge their skepticism, allowing a transient passage for ideas to flow unencumbered, free from the harassing gauntlet of opinionated garble that can drown out honest communications. Call it a beachhead. Call it a base camp. It amounts to a miniscule fissure in an intractable boulder of granite. A fracture where a single seed is dropped by a passing winged courier. That seed will grow. Over time the roots will transform the boulder. Look around you James. You are a witness to all the benefit that this practice has brought to the world. Please don't ask me to qualify the value of the result further, by requiring me to find better words to define it."

A few days before publishing, I will share the jacket cover blurb with you. I am hoping to get comments from any and all interest parties.            https://www.amazon.com/author/johnlack

I am happy to say that I successfully published my first book of poetry this month and it is now available on Amazon. I am having a wonderful time learning how to navigate the self-publishing world and many of the contributors here have provided invaluable support. I felt it appropriate to extend my gratitude. ~ thanks all!!!

Here is my author's page with bio - do not hesitate in connecting: http:// https://www.createspace.com/6489425 . I have several other projects that I am contemplating including more poetry, children's books and a series of essays. What fun! Thanks for the support.

Hello everyone,

I have never BLOGGED before, but I need advice on how to get my first book out there to the world.

I have it on Amazon (The Detectives' Daughter) and constantly share it on facebook.

I even joined a few book clubs on facebook. (no help there)

I have sold about twenty five copies to friends and family and giving many away.

Everyone that has read it, raves about how great it is for my first book.

I just finished my second book, but I am having the worst time with the interior issues regarding bleed.

This one has tons of 8x10 pictures in it. I even used their cs template then converted to PDF.

I have read everything about setting margins etc but nothing works. I have changed it so many times I don't even know where the original is anymore. Help!

Do you think they'll accept it if I submit it and that's the only issue?

The first 68 pages with text I have no issues showing.

Any advice on these two subjects?

Angel

From time to time Createspace features a blog post that focuses on word choice. Whenever the opportunity to choose between maybe or perhaps arises, you can always find me squarely in the perhaps camp. If you were to ask me why, perhaps I could provide a conceivable motivation for my preference. Perhaps putting my thoughts on paper may be useful in helping to define my reasoning.

Conceivably perhaps may possibly display more versatility than maybe. It is reasonable perhaps that words like perchance, a huge favorite of mine, which is possible to capture in the rather broad synonym net cast by perhaps, may feasibly create a believable edge and tip the scales in perhaps' favor. It is certainly imaginable perhaps that a reasonably fair chance exists that this may be the case.

When it comes to the list of synonyms perchance maybe can be credited with, only one does not generally also accrue to perhaps. The word is mayhap. Perhaps some of you have heard of mayhap? Maybe it is conceivably plausible that someone perhaps would use the word mayhap in their manuscript? I for one have not found the need for mayhap, but mayhap I can find a good use for mayhap in my blog?

Perhaps has more of a Dickensian ring to it than does the word maybe. Since I am a big fan of Dickens, having referenced him in my two books, and actually patterned his style in Heiding Fortunes, Feinding Truths, conceivably this may be the reason for my favorable impression of perhaps. Perhaps you can tell, there is little question that I prefer to use perhaps whenever the opportunity arises.

Perhaps it might be to everyone's benefit if I were not left alone in the mall with nothing interesting to keep my mind occupied. Mayhap next time I will remember to keep my phone charged. Perhaps you agree?

I recently revised my book and was published on Friday. I am extremely excited. While I was looking at the different links I found this forum under community.

I hope to get a lot of information, tips and hints for my next publication.  It is nice being here with other Indie authors.  I can't wait to get to know some of you and share experiences with the publishing process. I am sure there are things I can be told that will ultimately make the process smoother.
