brazilfroggy books

Posted by froggyman Jan 29, 2018

I am a writer of children books.  I have always been involved with drawing, painting, and illustrations.  I alos was raised in southern Louisiana where I became very familiar with the many characters that appear in my Froggy books.  After much trial and error, along with the encouragement from a few friends and acquaintances I was able to create my first book, entitled "Froggy:  The Beginning."  It is a story about a little frog who was rescued and raised by a kind stranger after a violent flood swept her away from her mom and siblings.  The setting is in an imaginary location in the Manchac, Louisiana area which I named the "Kooterville Swamp."  Her story continues in the books that follow.  Suitable for young children and adults who like to read to their children.  Large print with color illustrations.

Hi, How you All doing?

Let me introduce myself to you, I'm a first-time Author, from Manchester England, This is the first ever Blog I've ever done - hope I get it right!  Anyway, I'm a busy Mother of 5 and have written a Series of 'Epic Fantasy Adventure Books' readership age (18+).  I'm shattered, to say the least, have any of you got any suggestions as to possible Marketing avenues I could consider.  I released Part one last month just weeks before Christmas and am looking forward to getting the first money I've earned later this month, after not earning a single penny since 2009. Yes, I'm sure it's been really hard for many of you too, trying to finish up your books and get the visions of your mind out there for all to read. Hope you'll enjoy mine 'AGES OF RAEKWON - Awakenings Arousal the Peoples Story'.  I never anticipated how hard it would be to follow through with the promotion or get people, to take me seriously. The saying              'do not judge a book by its cover', seems to also apply to them looking at me.  So, please tell me how you're finding it all, I'd love to hear your...Stories!

Cork writer says 'Hi'

Posted by Corkwriter Dec 4, 2017

Hello Fellow Dreamers,

Looks like I'm latest newcomer on the docket, so here's more than you need to know about me.

I often tell people I have a mind like a steel trap, but the latches rusted out years ago. Age, good bourbon, good friends, travel, hanging with stars, closing hotel bars, peer pressure, free peanuts on Southwest, perhaps some grey matter leaking out my brainpan--plus many other factors--have earned me a memory that comes and goes like a good metaphor I wish I had to insert here.

I've done some things as an occupation that deserve telling. So I wrote a novel because I figured if one gets the tone right, finds the good fiction beyond the non-fiction, and spells most of the words correctly you've got something very readable. Did I mention it's funny?

Back in the day I had two published books, one poltical & humorous, one media humor and analysis. I don't remember if they will let you pass along the names of your previous books here, or even my own name  But if I'm allowed to--they're well out of print--they'd be True Grits and A Few Marbles Left. And I'd be John Corcoran Jr.

Neither my prior books nor my freelancing paid the rent. So, despite a "face for radio," I became a critic and entertainment reporter on the tube. I was the goofball at the end of the show,--after all the bleeds-it-leads, the ball scores, the weather, and the earnest editorial by a well-meaning GM-- I'd come by to tell you what movie to see or what a star or director thought about his/her new flick.  I interviewed stars. Many a weekend, I jumped the big skybird, flew to a distant city and lived in the lap of luxury for a couple days while lapping up the good hootch. SHow Biz--You gotta love it.

I won't lie. It was a great gig. The novel--called Doing Julia is in the process of getting loaded up as an original Paperback and on Kindle.

I just wanted to take a moment to say thanks to create space for all their great help in publishing my books. After 50 in 5 years,I am taking a break. Of course, the books will always be there and I have to thank readers, whose great imaginations add so much to the stories. Where would authors be without the amazing readers whose imaginations take books to a new level. The great feedback, whether in person or in reviews, is what keeps writings struggling to put those words to paper. I am amazed by each person who reads one of my stories and thankful to all for the great support in the last five years. My health is bad, with a degenerating spine and arthritis, I have decided my writing long hand is over. So, maybe some day I will try using anohter dragon for the books. The last one I had got a little crazy and I slayed the thing. Mostly this post is a thank you to create space, readers and supporters. You made my dreams come true. A feat I never thought possible when I began. If you are a writer, good luck! If you are a reader, bless you and thanks. P.S. Winn

I grew up in the Ohio Valley that sits between the Appalachian foothills and the Ohio River. A small town called Portsmouth. A town that once was a thriving city. The main industry was steel. The steel mill provided economic stability. It made men strong and sometimes rowdy. My granddaddies and daddy worked there and thought I would too. Most young boys future began and ended at the mill. Education was not viewed as a necessity. I, however, loved learning. A true bookworm. Being a nerd in the middle of a bunch of rough and rowdy rednecks can be detrimental to your health. Most of my life I was bullied and eventually started fighting back. This led to drug and alcohol abuse and resulted in me dropping out of school.

Years of abusing my body, mind, and spirit took its toll on me. However, I managed to get sober and start the recovery process. A process that will last the remainder of my life. I am back to my first real love; books. Went back and received my education, have served as a pastor for several years, and began writing. Hence, I am here sharing this brief introduction with you.

I have been using CreateSpace since I first thought about creating a book in 2012.  What a wonderful opportunity they provide.  Not only do they offer us guidance about creating a cover, they offer us the opportunity to print and make a reasonable quality book at a very, very, minimal cost.  Then they connect us to the mammoth sales opportunities offered by and offer us a community to discuss with.  What could be better?  A publisher liked one of my ideas (Have You Seen My Daddy's 18 Wheeler?) but only wanted to offer me a self-publishing contract.  It made me feel vindicated, but I had to tell him "Thanks, but No Thanks ".

But, to describe me, I retired from full-time civil engineering in April, 2014.  I designed highways and by-ways, as well as other infrastructure improvements, I inspected their construction, I raised two wonderful daughters, and was an active Rotarian for more than 20 years.  Now my wife and I travel, I take lots of photographs, I constantly read and am beginning to cook, I provide some part-time civil engineering to a very select group of clients, and I write, write, write.  I love it .

Now I an spending time taking pictures of 18 Wheelers, contacting the owners to gain their approval, arranging them into a series of children's travel books, and trying to market them.  I titled them "Have You Seen My Daddy's 18 Wheeler?" (one book with 176 pictures and a story about what Daddy experiences) and "Have You Seen My 18 Wheeler?" (12 books with 19 pictures and area for recording information about the sighting).

I also make presentations to high school and college students who are considering civil engineering as their field of study - it is amazing how many of them really have no concrete idea about what we, as civil engineers, do for infrastructure construction.  I titled two different books "Russell Builds a Bridge" and "Russell Widens a Road".  And then, after my younger brother passed away, I created a biographical history about our mother for her grandchildren.  I titled it "What Did He Tell Her?" because the married life she lead as the wife of a share-cropping Iowa farmer did not fit with the New York City childhood she had before that marriage.  I thought it was a pretty unique story.

So, if you would preview, make comments about, and/or offer condolences about the books and my ideas, I would appreciate it.  If you want my input about your projects, please let me know what you are working on and how to find it and I will return the favor.

Hello Everyone . . .

Posted by MusicLover Jul 11, 2017

This is my first message to this community. I am very happy to be here and make friends with writers who have this passion to write and spread messages that will help humanity. I have a history of professional musical performance, mostly classical and Church work, orchestras, chamber music, etc. It was fun while it lasted but now I am older and interests have expanded. I have this urge to write about things that really count in life, like faith in God, etc. I would love to hear from folks who have these things in common and make friends.

Hello, new Sci-Fi writer

Posted by Blackie_Chan Apr 16, 2017

Hello, everyone, my name is Justin Pyfrom and I'm a lover of all things Science Fiction and Video Games. I've been a lover of storywriting since I was in grad school and it followed me until I got my Bachelor's in Game Simulation and Programming. But, after a few failed projects, my best mate reminded me that EVERYBODY knows how to design a game but where I really shine is telling a compelling story and creating intriquing characters. With that, I was convinced to do what I really love and write stories that "bend minds". I'm hoping that I do them proud and learn more about myself in the process.

Please, any and all feedback is greatly appricated.

Another day of pen pushing.

Posted by autumnwhispr Jan 15, 2017

Hello world,

It's a beautiful day full of sunshine and I'm feeling great. I think my mind is in the writing state which means I may get a few good pages of work done on my new book project. I already have one published here so far its going no where but that isn't going to stop me I'm head strong and determined that Great Spirit saved me from cancer for a reason and I'm meant to do great things. My ultimate goal is to help find a cure for cancer and I have vowed that I will donate a dollar proceeds off of every book I sell to doing just that. I write for enjoyment I love it and if I can help kill this dreadful diease in the process then I'll never give up.

In the next few weeks I will be publishing my third work of fiction, "Heiding Fortunes, Feinding Truths", A Tale of Two Richards. The novel is dedicated to "Independent Authors Everywhere". This dedication was chosen because I believe the story touches the very soul that motivates many of us to take the time to do what we do.

The work merges two accounts. The first, a Dickensian view of the world of wealth, poverty, inheritance and deception, featuring the life story of Richard Heiding. Its companion tale highlights Richard Feinding in a modern day treatise on the value of honesty, candid expression and truthful communication. The narratives are linked by the evolution of the clandestine enterprise which both men eventually serve.  The message for today; the proliferation of unbiased views that encourage people to think for themselves can elevate society to reach its full potential and make for a better world.

The following is an excerpt in which Richard Feinding defends the value of his life's work: ..."Then of course, as with any message, unless you are just howling into the wind, someone must hear it. Perhaps it is the respect offered the newly deceased that cracks the door to that listening. That tiny window when people discharge their skepticism, allowing a transient passage for ideas to flow unencumbered, free from the harassing gauntlet of opinionated garble that can drown out honest communications. Call it a beachhead. Call it a base camp. It amounts to a miniscule fissure in an intractable boulder of granite. A fracture where a single seed is dropped by a passing winged courier. That seed will grow. Over time the roots will transform the boulder. Look around you James. You are a witness to all the benefit that this practice has brought to the world. Please don't ask me to qualify the value of the result further, by requiring me to find better words to define it."

A few days before publishing, I will share the jacket cover blurb with you. I am hoping to get comments from any and all interest parties.
