Re: Do you have a website for selling your book?

As a final clarification to the lost eMail from OLIMPIAN, I just found it in one of my other eMail accounts. I do appreciate the recommendations to improve my Websites but Microsoft will be discontinuing the Office Live Small Business Website hosting and I will be moving my two sites elsewhere very soon; at that time I will try a more coherent presentation for each, as they were intended to be:

1. http://AntiquesArtBookworld.com for books, poems and other writings and

2. http://olivaarteshow.com  for my artwork.

Since I did not intend to sell the BIRDYJOSH. . . book right off either Website and seeing that it was useless to continue my intensive book promotion due to my inability to control the high price of the soft cover book, I did not upgrade them appropriately and now I have to switch hosts. It is hard to write, paint and at the same time to keep up with numerous websites, blogs and social sites, but there is always room for improvement, however slight it might be. Case closed!

Re: Do you have a website for selling your book?

Thank you for the comments, the book has been an exciting adventure and I am looking forward to getting the final product out there. On a side note, if you are looking for a new webhost I have had great luck with BlueHost. The fees are relatively inexpensive and the service has been fantastic

Re: Do you have a website for selling your book?

Oh another of my websites is:  http://about.me/MichaelRobbMathias

These about.me pages are free and can be tweeted and fb liked easily. At one point I had one for each of my novels, but I've let them go and just my Yahoo web site www.mrmathias.com  and the about.me page.

I've sold a crap load of books (eBooks actually) and I've learned a lot. Some of you and your amazing sites have helped me.

IF ANYONE KNOWS AN EXCEPTIONAL WEB DESIGNER. I AM INTERESTED IN STARTING A DIALOGUE.

I want my web page with this address (  http://www.mrmathias.com/ -  Its a yahoo buisness web address that hits VERY HIGH on ALL the major search engines ) I will not use another address.   If anyone can work under those conditions let me know here:  ****** Thanks guys.  M. R. Mathias

Re: Do you have a website for selling your book?

Thanks for sharing your experience with your Web host. I have been researching reliable ones but keep reading bad reviews affecting even "the best." Regretfully, my time is running out and I have been looking closely at BH. I was very happy with the Microsoft free site since it was extremely easy to manage, particularly since I do not have either the time or the know-how. They offer a free trial period for their new hosting package but, based on the instructions, it appears it would be easier to migrate. Good luck to you in your endeavors!

Re: Do you have a website for selling your book?

Regarding MSN's new Office 365 site.  Don't do it.  After 3 weeks I finally got my site back up but I am still reconstructing the entire site.  The migration process is poorly documented and not for the inexperienced.  The Wizzard is flawed and omits the last step to re-instate your site.  If it wasn't for the community group I still wouldn't be on-line.  When my "free trial" expires I will be in search of a new host.

Re: Do you have a website for selling your book?

Thanks for sharing your experience. For the reasons stated by you and others I had decided to transfer my two sites to another host. And I have to hurry since my expensive Melbourne domain will expire this month and I want to transfer that too. I am sure I will miss the ease of the Microsoft site but hope I can find something similar elsewhere. You would think that with all the technology available MS would have been able to offer a simpler deal. Too bad, I liked them!

I just completed mine. It's not as over the top as I would like, but I think it's pretty good. You can check it out at http://sweetnightmares1.com. Tell me what you think.
