Creating Oblique Book Graphics for Marketing

Can you use GIMP to create oblique book graphics with readable title? And readable spine?
I have seen such graphics created before, but do not know how to make them myself.

They are sort of 3-D with the book slightly sideways.

Any help? Thank you!

Yes, you can do it with two layers (front cover and spine) and the "perspective" tool.  You should be able to find some tutorials that will walk you through the process (try searching for something like "Making a 3D box" -- there are probably more people making images of software/product boxes to display this way than there are books, but the approaches are the same).

Hope that's helpful.  Best wishes.

Hi Ague… in CorelDRAW it’s called the “extrude tool”.

I searched for and downloaded a few plugins/action scripts for Photoshop to create 3D book covers. A quick google search indicates Gimp uses plugins too. Quality seems to vary.
