2nd time around.

2nd time around, correcting some mistakes and having create space create my cover. Anybody creating their own cover?

Re: 2nd time around.

Yep, a lot of us design our own covers...and sometimes covers for others as well.

Re: 2nd time around.

After messing around with the cover creator, I opted to make my own cover as well, and have been very pleased with how smoothly it all went.

Curious . . . a tertiary answer for a primary question about a secondary issue. Or am I missing a step?

Re: 2nd time around.

CreateSpace does good cover designs, although you can find more affordable quality designers if you shop around. The main drawback to using CS's design services is that you never get to own the high-resolution artwork or source files, you just get a restricted license to the artwork so you can only print your book with CS. You can get access to low-res files for your ebook cover, but you can't print good quality posters or other marketing material with the low-res files... and I just noticed CS doesn't offer posters and stuff anymore. It makes it hard to market your book when you have these limitations and don't truly own the artwork even though you've paid for it.
