Formatting

I want to have my book title on the left page headers and the various chapter titles on the right page headers and page numbering on every page footer. I know it can be done because every **** book out there is this way. When I page break between chapters and select different odd/even pages to text different header content, I am able to create differnet headers throughout, BUT it automatically deletes even page numbers. I'm sooo close! its taken hours to get this far with different headers odd/even. Anyone?

Re: Formatting

I have seen no **** books out there the way you describe them.

You don't tell us which program you're using but this might help:

Have you run a search of the site?

Re: Formatting

If you're close to having the book as you want it, make sure you work on a copy from now on.

I don't know Word 08 but in Word 2010 Section Breaks come into play when you change the headers.

How are you entering the page numbers?

Re: Formatting

Use SECTION BREAK - NEXT PAGE instead of Page Break.

Uncheck the <Link to Previous> in the header or footer you want to be different than the previous one.
