No EDC ... lower price

If I do not use the Expanded Distribution Channel will I then be able to lower the selling price of my books?

Currently, the majority of my books are selling around $11.99 US ($15.31 CAN).
With shipping added in, that cost goes up to $20.00 CAD for a 300 page paperback.
In my opinion (and my Canadian customers too) that's too much and I would like to some how lower my selling price.

Yes.

To further explain, play with the caluculator at https://www.createspace.com/Products/Book/#content6 to see what your minimum retail list price would be for just the Amazon channels.

The CAD / USD exchange rate you are showing is roughly 1.27 which is approximately what the current exchange rate is.  As you are aware, it affects anything that is originally purchased or priced in USD and effects a large part of the Canadian economy.

It is easy for your purchasers to avoid the Amazon.CA shipping fee.  Simply use Amazon.CA Prime OR purchase $35.00 CAD, before tax, or more of qualifying items so that they qualify for free shipping.

I would not reduce your margin.  If someone wants to buy your book, they will buy it.  A couple of dollars is not likely to affect their decision since you are the only one with the specific title.
