How Do I Change a PDF Cover's Spine Width Using Free Software

I had a professional POD done in PDF, now I have changed my book size and Createspace requires the spine width to be adjusted. Does anyone know how to do that using Paint, Word or some free software so that I can change it on my own and so it will be accepted?  Your help is greatly appreciated!

Free PDF editing software? You might try LibreOffice. Its Draw program may fit the bill.

I think you can open and edit a PDF in GIMP, which is free software.  Google it.  But, if you truly changed your book size, for example, from 6 x 9 to 8 x 10 then you need to recreate the entire cover, not merely the spine.

Get it done properly and go back to the person who made your cover to begin with.

Otherwise Gimp, Inkscape or Scribus are all good open source software.
