Flash Player not installed error?

Been using CS for years, never had a problem like this. After uploading a new text file, I get the error message: "Your browser does not currently support Flash Player 10.2 which is required to open Digital Proofer. Go here to download it... blah blah blah."

1. Never had this problem before, most recently uploaded a book about a week ago. All was okay.

2. Downloaded the flash player file as indicated - no change even after restoring/rebooting.

3.  Rebooted computer twice. No change.

4.  Uploaded file again. No change.

5.  Stumped.

Any suggestions or solutions?

Thanks,

Re: Flash Player not installed error?

Odds are, you need to enable Flash in Chrome's settings.

Re: Flash Player not installed error?

Are you aware that Chrome updates automatically and that nowadays Flash Player is considered so very unsafe that virtually every browser update is disabling it and you have to go through the steps to manually enable it?

Google how to enable it if you are not familiar with the steps you need to take.

Re: Flash Player not installed error?

Adding to the above, each time there's a new update to Flash Player (which can be every few days), you may have to do this again (depending on your update and browser settings). As mentioned, security vulnerabilities in Flash Player have increased, so it no longer seems to be the kind of "set it and foget it" plug-in it once was.

Re: Flash Player not installed error?

I can reproduce this problem in Incognito mode.  Flash does not seem to work now, although it did work when i tried it just a week or two ago (I normally use Firefox).  Normal mode allows Flash to run.

The switch to allow Flash is called "Block Sites from Running Flash" by default; the name changes to "Ask First" when you flip the switch.  The pattern I used to specifically allow CS was [*.]createspace.com
