Re: What do you think of Kindle's new lending program

Callalily,  It's an investment, that's the only way to look at it.  First, you have to agree to participate in Prime Program.  Go to KDP and you get all the details.  You have to lower the price of your Kindle edition to ZERO for a time, up to five days.  In exchange, your book gets some up-front exposure, links to other books ("people who bought this, also bought . . ."), that sort of thing on Amazon.  Mine was actually on the first page whenever you clicked on shop "Books."  It's too early to tell whether I got anything out of it, but the free version was downloaded over 200 times, including 57 in the UK.  I'm hoping that those people will like it enough to tell their friends and maybe spend a dollar or two on my next book.  I'll let you know.  I guess the point is that it probably cost me very little for quite a bit of exposure,.

My free five day KDP Select promotion started today for Sarah Of The Moon. So far close to 200 downloads. Hopefully readers will like the novel and generate word of mouth. Only time will tell.

Re: What do you think of Kindle's new lending program

It is a promotion for KDP Select. I believe you must enroll in that program to qualify for the 5 day free promotion.

Re: What do you think of Kindle's new lending program

If you go to your KDP bookshelf, and click on the actions tab by your book (to the left of it)...It will say something like manage promotions or something. You click on that and a calendar will come up...one for the day to start it, then a calander for the day to end it...That's all you have to do. Way to the right of your book it will be a green check and say 'info'..Everything you need to know is there. And yes, it's a free promotion only for those with KDP select enrollment.

Thank you Terri Marie for your wonderful review of Sarah Of The Moon. It is always a great thrill and honor to have a fellow author enjoy your book. My wife and I are looking forward to reading your novel next week, and I will be happy to review it.

Thanks again and Happy New Year!
