Still cannot understand COMMAs

Most of my edits/redits is a struggle with commas.

When I read a sentence as I intend it to be -- I put a comma where I deem a pause occurs as I read it.

Then I find that I have too many commas and then I start to get rid of them.

..and then sometimes I just go back and forth, back and forth...

and sometimes I just wish the grammar-god had never invented the comma; life would be so much simple without it.

Re: Still cannot understand COMMAs

Commas are often necessary to resolve ambiguities, but I lean toward comma minimalism in cases where it's a stylistic call. That said, one must know the difference.
