Hello All;

OK, so, I am in need of another ISBN, and I found this site:

While reading, it states the following.

Each publishing package includes an ISBN that Movement Publishing has purchased from Bowker in bulk, meaning the ISBN is listed on Bowker's private website under the publisher name Movement Publishing.

Interested in using your own publisher name? I don't require you to use my publisher name. In other words, you are free to use your own publisher name on your actual book, book marketing, etc. Bowker's database is private and can't be searched on Google, so 99% of your customers won't see.

So, if I purchase my ISBN through them, and put my name in my book as publisher, is this legal?

If you buy from anyone other than the authorized ISBN agency for your country (Bowker in the US), you run a very high risk of not being able to use that ISBN at all. There are many, many cases of people thinking they're getting a deal by buying an ISBN cheap from someone else, only to have the printer/distributor reject the number because it's registered to someone other than the person trying to use it.

Don't cheap out; use the authorized agency (or a free ISBN from CreateSpace):
