Adding Different Page Numbers to Each Section of a Book

Hello to All,

Do anyone know where I may can get some assistance adding different page numbers to each section of my book? I have been struggling with this? As an example:

Title Page LETTERS

Interior Pages

ABC Company

Page 1

Page 2

Page 3

Next Selection

DEF Company

Page 1

Page 2

Page 3

Next Selection

GHI Company

Page 1

Page 2

Page 3

Page 4

The end

Any help would be greatly appreciated and thank you for taking the time to acknowledge my question.

Well, we don't know what software you're using, but I'll bet you a dollar that if you Googled your software and page numbering help that you'd find a ton of tutorials.    For example "MS-Word page numbering help".

You can only have two sets of page numbering in a single volume with CreateSpace and each set must be sequential. For example, you can have the traditional Roman page numbers for your front matter and Arabic for the rest of the book, including the back matter.

We've prepared books that use page number prefixes -- for example, A-1, A-2, A-3... for the first section, B-1, B-2, B-3... for the second section, etc. CreateSpace had no problem with that.

Interesting. Perhaps they have changed their policy since I tried it.

Re: Adding Different Page Numbers to Each Section of a Book

I was just reminded that we did a book here in 2009 that had Roman numerals in the front matter (i-xii), regular page numbers in the body (1-380), and page number prefixes in the 12 appendices (A-1 to A-4, B-1 to B-8..., L-1 to L-6). We submitted a second edition in 2016 that used the same page numbering scheme. No problem either time.
